1971 Founding of Flow Systems Inc. in Kent, Washington, USA by Dr. Mike Pao (father of the first industrial application of ultrahigh-pressure technology for waterjet applications).
1980
The European Headquarters is founded in October in Darmstadt as "Flow Systems GmbH". This is later renamed "Flow Europe GmbH". Provides sales and servicing of ultrahigh-pressure pumps for cutting and cleaning applications.
1987 Flow becomes a system provider for complete waterjet cutting solutions for various 2D applications.
1990 Flow Europe starts its own research and development for complete systems.
1997 FORACON in Bretten is integrated into the Flow family of companies (specialists for system engineering in waterjet technology).
1998 ISO-9001 certification granted to Flow for manufacturing of all ultrahigh-pressure pumps and components.
1999 The 250th machine of the T11 series leaves the factory in Darmstadt.
2000 Market-oriented sales structure for the manufacturing industry, automotive and aerospace industry.
2001 In December the German operations are combined in Bretten.
2003 Structural reorganization in order to strengthen customer relationship and to adapt to modern flexibility requirements.
In December the co-operation with Trumpf Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG in the sector of waterjet cutting technology is announced.
2006 Launch of the successful online ordering system — www.FlowEuropeParts.com — for replacement parts and accessories.
2008 About 10,000 Flow pumps and systems are in use today worldwide.
2008 In September the new sales offices Flow Eastern Europe s.r.o. based in Brno, Czech Republic is inaugurated.
